President’s Message
Greetings,
As
our last meeting of the year approaches, it is time to reflect on the past
year. Bill Welch presented excellent speakers again this year. I wish more of the chapter members would
take advantage of the professional education available. We have asked for your
input on officers and speakers. We are
always looking for new ideas.
We
had a nice student turnout at the January meeting. Ben Feutz gave an excellent presentation on the IRS and the
students asked many great questions.
As
the unemployment rates rise, keep in mind that professional networking can be a
powerful tool. Dave Gingrich and Cindy
Vellano are the Career Opportunities and Placement Coordinators for our
chapter, which are good resources.
This is a good time to expand your networking circle out into the
business community. With the turmoil in
our economy and the business world, we as accountants will be called upon to
help with our skills.
I
want to thank the board of directors for their dedication this past year. I would also like to thank all past board
members for all you have done for the Ohio Mid-Eastern chapter of the IMA for
the past 40 years. Mark your calendars for the May 8 & 9 Ohio Regional
Council and Leadership meetings in Cambridge at Salt Fork Park. The Norm Meonske Professional Development
Seminar is April 24 at KSU in Kent.
I
look forward to seeing you at our meeting on March 24.
Sincerely,
Sally Huff
