As of February, our chapter was in 23rd place in the Warner Division. Although we have not emphasized competition, it is nice to know that our efforts are very acceptable when compared to others. It is not too late if you want to volunteer to help with the chapter operations. Just contact any of the Officers. We will have our first chapter-planning meeting in June. Ohio Council also has an excellent Leadership Training scheduled to be held in Columbus on May 8. Happy Spring!
Sincerely,
Polli Truman
Chapter President

Wanted: CMA Review Course Instructor
The Akron IMA chapter has put out the following notice that we would like to share:
The University of Akron Workforce Development and Continuing Education
division has a great opportunity for an IMA member who is a CMA to lead the
new CMA format review course to a group of employees at one of the area
corporations. The corporation contacted the University and requested the review
classes for the new two part CMA exam be provided to a group of approximately
20- 25 of its employees. They requested that the review classes be held on site at
their facilities during regular weekly business hours. This opportunity would be
ideal for either a retired IMA member or one who has available time during normal
weekday business hours, and is seeking an opportunity to supplement their income.
The corporation would like to begin offering the program as soon as possible so if
you are interested and want to find out more, contact Patrick Allen, University of
Akron Workforce Development and Continuing Education Coordinator at
(330) 972-7260 or email him at pallen@uakron.edu .
CMA CERTIFICATION
Classes, seminars, or training sessions you have completed may qualify for competition points! IMA awards competition points for professional development, so please submit your information! This is especially true if the training is sponsored by IMA, which is another great reason to attend the Inside Talk Webinar in April.
Upon completing your training, you will need to obtain a letter or certificate of completion from the organization conducting the session. Please send this information to cynthiacaddell@gmail.com . We will check it out to see if it qualifies. You just may be helping our chapter obtain competition points, not to mention monetary compensation!
