We have small manufacturing firms in our Industrial Park that provide jobs for our people. The Intersection of Route 9, Route 250 and Route 22 has brought retail business to Cadiz, the County Seat, resulting in more jobs. The town of Hopedale is growing because of its closeness to Pittsburgh and the completeion of the Route 22 bypass. Harrison County is the home of Bowerston Shale, Nolan Company, W.F. Gammeter, and Bowerston Lumber.
     The Harrison County Airport is three miles south of Cadiz and serves executive aircraft. Harrison County is close to three major airports: Pittsburgh International, Akron-Canton Airport, and Cleveland Hopkins. Harrison County has deep historical roots that make tourism a natural business. It's known for it tourtist attractions, such as, The Harrison County Coal Museum, Clark Gable Mueseum, The Franklin Museum, the Custer Monument, and much more. Its many Hike and Bike Trails havbe become very popular. Its many lakes provide added recreational opportunities. Hunting is another popular recreational sport.
     We are proud of our good schools, good libraries, active religious groups, and many nice residential areas. Our police departments in each town provide good security for our homes, schools, and businesses.
      Harrison Community Hospital is a fully accredited hospital that provides quality health care for everyone in the county. Our Emergency Squad is experienced and our Volunteer Fire Departments are well equipped. Harrison County also has its' own Rural Transit System funded by the government.
